  • Third Millenium Ensemble of Washington, DC announced that Ivan’s composition Airborne for clarinet and string quartet has won the Second Prize at the 2012 Third Millenium Ensemble Composition Competition. The Ensemble will perform and record the piece during its next concert season. The score of Airborne (which also exists in the version for bass clarinet and string quartet) is available, and you can listen to a previous performance of the piece here.

  • Ivan's compositions Microgrooves for harpsichord solo and Aliénor Courante for soprano, cello and harpsichord were announced as winners at the 2012 Aliénor Harpsichord Composition Competition in the solo and chamber music categories, respectively. Both pieces were premiered at the Conference of the North American Historical Keyboard Society in Cincinnati, Ohio, on March 23, 2012. The performers were James Dorsa, harpsichord, Kelly Ballou, soprano, and Micah Fusselman, cello. Scores of both pieces are available here.  

  • The project Invitation to Composers by the London Schubert Players has come to its completion by the appearance of 7 CDs and brochures. Ivan's piece Marittimo for trumpet, piano and string quintet appears on CD 1 (studio recording), while Spring Passes for piano 4-hands and string quintet (live concert recording) can be found on CD 6-7.  Some of these compositions are scheduled for release on the Nimbus-Alliance label.   • Golden Gate Drive for mandolin orchestra won the second prize at the San Francisco Mandolin Orchestra 2012 New Music Competition. Ivan's piece was premiered by this ensemble during the festivites that marked the 75th aniversary of the building of the Golden Gate Bridge.

  • Ivan's Spring Passes for string quintet and piano 4-hands has inspired choreographer Galya Kalichin to stage a ballet show with her Mala CHERGA Theater in London. This piece was also performed with great success at the 21st International Review of Composers in Belgrade by the Gradilište (Construction Site) ensemble with Premil Petrović conducting.
